A non participate safari which takes you through central Kalahari Game Reserve with its dominated landscape by silver terminalia sand-veldt Kalahari sand acacia passing through Maun the safari capital to the Okavango Delta, one of the most sought after wilderness destinations in the world, which gives entrance to the spectacle wild Africa such as dreams are made of-the heart-stopping excitement of big game viewing, the supreme tranquility and serenity of an untouched delta,and evocative scenes of extraordinary natural beauty. Moremi Game Reserve followed,one of the best wilderness area of Botswana which covers swamps and dry areas of Botswana which covers and dry areas then Chobe National Park with its largest number of Elephant around the world being visited and Savute being known for its predators particularly lion, cheetah and hyena,of which there are large resident population.
DAY 1:Hainaveld-Bushman Experience ,camping.
The safari begins in Maun where your guide will meet you around 0745hrs at a pre -arranged meeting point. Your safari will start by traveling to a game farm on the northern part of Central Kalahari Game Reserve, set up camp and have a safari briefing. In the afternoon you will participate in a nature walk leaded by an local San Bushman trackers.They will share their intricate Bush knowledge and give you an insight into their unique and intriguing culture.
DAY 2-4: Central Kalahari Game Reserve,camping
As the sun rises you will wake up and enter the pristine wilderness which is the largest Game Reserve in Botswana. The next four days will be spent exploring the undeveloped wilderness of the northern region of Kalahari, moving from camp to camp.You will visit Passarge Valley (Day 2 and 3) and Deception Valley (Day 4 and 5) in your exploration of the Kalahari. Savour the vast open space, clear night skies and uninterrupted beauty of game drives and at camp.
After our final morning game drive in the Kalahari, we return to Maun,in the afternoon, you will have the option of taking a scenic flight over the Delta, (1hour is U$ 200) This magical experience provides another perspective of the Okavango Delta ‘s distinctive water system. The night will be enjoyed in a comfort at a lodge.Dinner is at your own expense at the lodge.
DAY 6-7: Okavango Delta, Camping
Your adventure will take you to the southern side of the Okavango Delta, a special corner of the paradise. Once you have reached the edge of the Delta ,You will meet your polers from the local community with their mokoro (traditional dugout canoes).
NOTE: On day 6 you will leave your main luggage at your safari vehicle and take small hand luggage.
DAY 8-9: Moremi Game Reserve ,Camping
Day 10-11 Khwai Concession
Today you will have your early morning breakfast and prepare for your next destination, Khwai Concession. The area covers 180,000 hectares and is considered one of the prime safari destinations on the fertile north-eastern fringes of the Okavango Delta. A community-run eco-tourism initiative, Khwai is a superb example of conservation tourism at its best, with all proceeds going back into the Khwai Village for community up-liftment and community projects.
The concession’s elephant herds are widespread, as are the different predator groups such as lion, leopard, spotted hyena, the endangered African wild dog, and cheetah.
The concession also boasts a superb array of bird species including Verreaux’s eagle owl, the bateleur, and a number of different types of eagle. Off-roading and night-drives are permitted and particularly convenient when trailing predators on the hunt.
DAY 12-13 Savuti
The Savute is famous for its river that suddenly stops flowing due to shifts in the Earth’s crust. From 2008 the river has flowed which has made the desert landscape lush once more. You should see several prides of Lion, Black-backed Jackal, Bat-eared Foxes, Tsessebe, Kudu, Impala, Giraffe and Ostriches on your game drives. During the summer months thousands of Zebra and other antelope species migrate to the area offering a feast for the local predators.
DAY 14-15:Chobe National Park, Camping
Chobe National Park, with its diverse and striking landscapes will be your next destination. As you continue Your search for wildlife, you will traverse the drier region of Savute where bull elephant dot the plains. You will then head northwards to chobe River where Your game drives will meander along the banks of the river, followed by the call of the majestic African Fish Eagle. Camping will be in a private designated area with bush ablutions.First in the Savute area (DAY 13) then in northern part of the park towards the riverfront.
DAY 16: End of tour
The safari officially end with a morning boat cruise in the Chobe River at 1000hours
